Na een periode van stilte nog eens een blogje... 2 maanden Ierland, zo voelt het toch absoluut niet. De tijd gaat snel en zo groeiden ook de foto's. 2 maanden Ierland niet langer Dublin alleen. Met Sint-Patricks day werd het een weekendje Galway. Een super mooi stadje aan de west kust van Ierland.
Even een samenvatting van mijn bevindingen:
- Ieren zijn zeer vriendelijke mensen, een spontane babbel is hier niet zeldzaam.
- Dublin is internationaler gericht dan de rest van Ireland.
- Ierland heeft een zeer prachtige natuur.
- Ik wil zeker terug komen om meer te ontdekken.
Indien ik nog wat tijd vind schrijf ik over elke activiteit een individueel verslag (of samen indien kleiner).
Met zijn natuur zo schoon is Galway en de Connemara een plek om te bezoeken voor het vinden van rust. Ik hoop een dag te mogen terug gaan met meer tijd om ook de kleinere eilandjes eens een bezoekje te brengen.
In de DCU is alles anders dan in België. Een andere cultuur. Veel relaxer, absoluut niet gejaagd. Ook de werkwijzen zijn anders. Geen handschoenen dragen bij celculturen is ongezien, want hier spuiten we alles met IMS (toxisch) in plaats van ethanol.
Het was even wennen maar ik begin toch mijn wegje te vinden.
Hopelijk tot iets meer hoors.

After a period of silence a new blog post. 2 months Ireland, it absolutely doesn't feel this way. The time goes fast and so grow the number of pictures at high range. 2 months Ireland. No longer Dublin alone. Because Sint-Patricks day became a weekend away. A weekend Galway to be precise. A beautiful town at the west coast of Ireland.
A small summary of my findings:
- Irish people are very friendly people, a spontaneous chat is not rare.
- Dublin is far more International minded than the rest of Ireland
- Ireland has a beautiful nature.
- I definitely want to go back to explore more.
If I find some more time I will write an individual report on each activity.
With its nature so pure, Galway and the Connemara are certainly spots to find rest and peace. I hope one day to be return with more time. So I can explore the smaller Islands as well.
At the DCU everything is different as in Belgium. A complete different culture. Very relaxed and absolutely not rushed. Also the methods are different. Not warring gloves in cell culture is un heard of, because here we use IMS (toxic) instead of ethanol.
I needed to get used to it but I'm starting to find my way.
